Uxbridge Organ Co.
Uxbridge Organ Co. Established ca 1872 at Uxbridge, north of Toronto. The company also was known as the Uxbridge Cabinet Organ Co and, after 1898, as the Uxbridge Piano and Organ Co. Advertisements 1878-9 offered reed organs in seven models at prices ranging from $200 to $355 and mentioned installations in central Ontario churches. No trace has been found of the company's activities after 1909. However, the formation of a new, presumably unrelated firm, the Uxbridge Piano Co, with directors in Toronto, was announced in the Canadian Music Trades Journal (Feb 1914). This company appears to have been short-lived.
