Vernon (Talmage) Carey. Tenor, choirmaster, b Millgrove 11 Jun 1885, d Hamilton 3 Nov 1948. He studied singing with his sister Clara and in New York for a short time in 1906. He was tenor soloist in Hamilton churches, choirmaster and soloist ca 1909-11 in Erie, Pennsylvania, and then choirmaster until the 1940s at Hamilton's Ryerson United Church. He sang in the Elgar Choir and appeared in recital throughout southern Ontario, often with his sister Bertha and cousin Estelle.
