Ernest Gagnier

Ernest Gagnier. Cellist, oboist, b Montreal 12 May 1898, d there 2 May 1931. After some initial work with his father, Joseph, he studied the cello with Raoul Duquette and Napoléon Dansereau and the oboe with Léon Kaster.

Ernest Gagnier. Cellist, oboist, b Montreal 12 May 1898, d there 2 May 1931. After some initial work with his father, Joseph, he studied the cello with Raoul Duquette and Napoléon Dansereau and the oboe with Léon Kaster. He was oboe soloist 1913-31 with the Canadian Grenadier Guards Band and cellist in several theatre orchestras in Montreal, with the Hotel Windsor Trio 1916-21, and with the Montreal Orchestra 1930-1.
