Centennial Hall

 Centennial Hall. Located on Wellington St in downtown London, Ont. Built as the city's centennial project, it is a multi-purpose concert, entertainment, and convention hall, designed by Phillip Carter Johnson. It opened 21 Jun 1967 with a concert by the London SO.(Orchestra London Canada). The hall is rectangular, and originally had 1854 seats on three levels (orchestra, mezzanine, and balcony). In 1986, Donald Jones Management Services took over, and the hall underwent renovations with the seating capacity reduced to 1637 in order to facilitate better views of the stage. There is no curtain, orchestra pit, or fly gallery. A second room, below the hall, is used for a variety of purposes. Operated strictly as a rental facility, Centennial Hall is the home of Orchestra London Canada and is owned by the City of London.

Among performers who have appeared at Centennial Hall are: Sarah McLachlan (1996), The Tragically Hip (1998), Diana Krall (2001), George Carlin (2003), Roger Whittaker (2004), k.d. Lang (2008), and Daniel Tosh (2011).
